As to this picture it is quite obiously developed in what I call "a chromasia beachcombing style". David J. Nightingale is the master of aesthetisizing normal objects found on the beach into pieces of art. Take a look at these entries on his site Chromasia to know what I mean.

wow, wonderful shot, brilliant compostion (rule of thirds!), depth-of-field well chosen and used and the lens seems to have a pleasant bokeh.
