cityscape, empire state building, fences, skyline Taken with a Canon EOS 350D Digital + Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 * Exposure: 1/125s * Aperture: f/22 * Focal Length: 50 mm * ISO Speed: 400 * Exposure Bias: 0/2 EV * Exposure Program: Aperture priority * Flash: Flash did not fire I'm back from a recent trip to NYC. I was travelling lightly: only my 10-22mm wide angle, a circular polarizer and a 50mm prime lens. I'm not into heavy gear - it's totally against my philosophy of street photography. You have to walk a lot to explore different scenes and you have to be able to react fast when you are encountering something interesting, I can not see how you can do this with a heavy bunch of equipment hanging from your shoulders. It simply weighs you down physically because it is exhausting carrying all this stuff around and slows you down mentally as you've always so many options at hand what kind of equipment you probably could use. Decision making takes time and uses up cerebral resources which are better devoted to the scene itself. As for this one: it was shot from Newport, New Jersey across the Hudson and shows Midtown, Manhattan with the Empire State Building, of course.
