As I wanted to put my new tripod through its paces I made a "real" HDR - that means I took three bracketed shots each one f-stop apart and combined the RAW files with Photomatix. Although - generally speaking - I'm pretty pleased how those HDR images made from a single RAW file had turned out, I must say that using three different exposures gives you even a better tonal range in my opinion. I'm gonna use this technique from time to time - its major drawback is of course carrying a tripod with you all the time which is pretty much against my principle using only minimal gear when I'm out on the streets.
